Gummy bears, M & M, are candy, but does anyone know what is in the ingredient? This should be the question for everyone should be asking, not try to find out what is the price of those candies. Red Dye 40, it is just only one ingredients that anyone can find on many food and product labels. It is known as Allura Red, it is the most common artificial food color. Candy, baked goods, and cosmetics are have those ingredient in it. So is there anyone know if those ingredient can be harmful to our health? What is Red 40? In a daily living, not everyone notice what is in the food that they consume. They may have seen on the article or news about crime, or accident that may cause their life in danger, but they have no ideas what is the Red dye 40. According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, some people may have allergic reactions to Red 40 and other AFCs. Research shows that it also can cause or lower the immune system in children, and can cause the tumors in human brain. The further research have shown that Red 40 can lowers reproductive success in rats. It also reduced parental and offspring …show more content…
There were so many people put the complaint to the FDA since 1976; however, the FDA still let the candy companies use the food dyes in those candies, even they found that the dyes would cause the behavior in children. They claimed that the food dyes would not do anything to harm consumers health if they do not consumed more than the consumption limited. But the researchers from be aware of that reason as well, they said that the limitation would be 100mg per day; however, the child would consume more than 200 mg. it’s the nature of children.
