Waste management is a very important issue faced by the world. Every person disposes of waste, and much of the waste is non-biodegradable. Moreover, even if the waste is biodegradable, it is not dumped away appropriately (SLWP). Both situations are a hazard to the environment because they lead to deposition of waste products on land and even in water. Therefore, the safest and most effective way of overcoming the problem of waste management and protecting the environment is by recycling waste products. Recycling is the process of the waste material usually thrown as trash, is collected and processed and turned into a new product for being consumed again. Recycling should be carried out as it will save the environment, the economy, and energy.

Firstly, it prevents the huge amount of waste ending up in landfills and the incinerators. Incinerators are used to burn away trash from homes, hospitals, and industries which are usually sent to the landfills . The country can be said to have a garbage crisis because every single item of use like papers, tissues, diapers to electronic equipment, is usually thrown away by people which ends up in landfills (Zeller). If the world did not reuse materials which could be reused, it would eventually develop a shortage of raw materials. Taking the example of paper, it can be imagined that if the paper were not recycled, there would be an acute shortage of trees since they are the raw material. Without trees, the environment would be in shambles, because they keep the air clean, they preserve the delicate balance of the air, and they add to the aesthetic beauty of the earth (RecyclingGuide).
