Douching may worsen yeast infection symptoms because it removes healthy bacteria that line the vagina that help protect against infection. Hot tubs can also remove healthy bacteria and contribute to yeast infections in the area by encouraging Candida species growth.
• Avoid Nonoxynol-9
Products containing nonoxynol-9 are used as vaginal spermicides and are a widely used in condoms. Some medical studies have linked it to an increase in recurrent yeast infections. More specifically, the average nonoxynol-9 exposure per week, which reflects the number of sex acts with spermicide, as well as the dose of each application used is what increases the risk of recurrent vaginal yeast

Biofilms of bacteria can adhere to a device and allow them to withstand environmental changes, which prevents antibiotics from penetrating the cells to kill them. When shifting from a planktonic state to a biofilm, the cells change its proteins. Biofilms produce FLO genes, which code for glycoproteins, cause the yeast to stick together.…

3.1. Green photosynthesis of gold nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Baker’s yeast: One aim of the present study is the development of an improved method for derivatization of metabolites existed in aqueous extract of Baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). This procedure facilitates identification of metabolites in Baker’s yeast extract and its utility for the synthesis of nanomaterials. The preparation of trimethylsilylenol ethers of metabolites was performed by treatment of the extract with catalytic amounts of trimethylsilylchloride (TMSCl) and trimethylsilylimidazole to produce silylated compounds that were determined using gas chromatography mass spectroscopy. The GC/MS analysis of the culture supernatants of aqueous extract of…
