Recurrent Mistakes Of Jayvier

Improved Essays
One of the first recurrent mistakes that I made in the first draft of my composition was spelling out names and adding too many letters. For example, when I tried to spell out my father’s name. I wrote his name as jota-a-y griega-uve-i-e-ere. This spells out the name Jayvier. His name is properly spelled jota-a-uve-i-e-ere, which spells out Javier. It was mistake because Jayvier is not a real name while Javier is actually my father’s real name. The second reoccurring mistake I was making in my original draft was forgetting to add articles before the objects. This resulted in a missing article or determinant mark, “A” on my paper. That is not proper grammar in Spanish. For example, I did not add “ las” and “los” before “matemáticas” and “deportes”.

For example the spelling "dailie" meant daily and the spelling "fewe" meant few. Instead of section 2.5 being written in the same way, it was written in an educated manner. The spelling improved in about 30 years from when the other letter was written. The spelling errors and run-on sentences made the excerpt difficult to understand. The difficulty made section 2.5 understandable and section 2.2, not so much.…

Spelling is very important, but it has seemed to disappear from modern day education across the United States. In the article “The Country is Going Through a Rough Spell” Bob Greene writes about the horrible decline in spelling he has seen over the last couple years. This article was written in 1981 and spelling has only gotten worse since then. Mr. Greene has a very different experience with spelling in the public world because he constantly receives letters from a lot of different people per day.…

I have never been a good writer or speller. I constantly spell the same words wrong over and over again and get the same critique marks on my paper. Unfortunately, I can never seem to fix the problem. I was always a little behind in elementary school, spelling words wrong and making grammar mistakes, but it was never too noticeable until fourth grade because for the most part. I think this is due partly to the argument Thomas Newkirk’s makes when he says, children still link pictures and words together in adolescence, it just starts to become more focused on writing starting in the second grade.…

This mistake that I’m writing about took a rather long time to learn that it was a mistake. Ever since I was a child my parents always pushed for me to learn Spanish. Probably due to the fact that my family is Spanish and that half of my relatives speak Spanish only. I never got into learning Spanish, and well they couldn’t blame me, I only started speaking English when I was six. Before that I was using basic sign language which I have now forgotten.…

You might not have even bothered to spell some common phrases and just use abbreviations, for example “btw” instead of spelling out “by the way”. After noticing these mistakes some people may think that texting is corrupting our writing and making people unable to write correctly.…

After reading my first writing project I noticed two things, first I could improve some sentences and go more into detail with some topics. I could fix some sentences to have the essay flow better for anyone reading it. I felt as if I jump from one sentence to another and left out some details that would be helpful to the reader. At the points where I highlighted some confusion, I will go back and fix them. I didn't hear any serious errors that needed to be fixed, but found spots where the paper could be improved.…

In writing classes the most common first day question is whether or not spelling and grammar will count. Most commonly students focus more on how they are writing and if it is grammatically correct or not rather than writing their inner thoughts. Jack Connor in his essay, “Will Spelling Count?”, argues that writing requires meticulous efforts through his use of cause and effect, comparison and contrast, and division and classification. Connor displays cause and effect throughout his essay to show how different ways of teaching affect students performance and effort level. When Connor first began teaching he wanted to be a different type of teacher.…

Back in the 4th grade, I would always struggle with writing stories. The reason that I had to write every week was because there was a North Carolina Writing Test for 4th graders. At the beginning of the week, I would always be required to write a story that fitted the assigned prompt. Ms. Miller, my 4th grade teacher, read to us the instructions of the writing prompt before I could start on my outline for this paper. One of the examples of the instructions was “Make sure to proofread your essay for grammar and spelling errors.”…
