Recreational Drug Abuse Research Paper

Overall I had a good experience doing this research project about how recreational drugs affect america’s society. I had taken what I have learned from last semester’s mock research project and applied it to this one in order to create better papers and a good project overall. My approach to this process was much more effective this time. Also, the understanding of this topic did change and I now take a different stance in the recreational drugs controversy. The way I also worked with my group changed for the better and we created a well written team paper that I am very proud of. I approached the process in a different way this time. First, I started by using ESBCO which is a database that provides peer reviewed articles that are backed up by experiments and research. I learned how dangerous a drug can be to your body and how it can lead to possible death. On the mental side, I learned that drugs it self cause many mental side effects including epileptic seizures and slowing down your senses. This can be life threatening and cause permanent damage. I also learned about the physical side effects of drugs. I read about a study that showed how a liver can be damaged due to the use of recreational drugs. It showed that the use of marijuana can worsen liver diseases and lead to Hepatitis C. I also learned that the use of recreational drugs affect the central nervous system which can lead to many problems. So after learning about all of the bad things that can happen to a person when they are a frequent user. This evidence supported my change of opinion. I now believe that recreational drugs have too many risks so they should be completely avoided and measures should be taken to stop other people from taking the
