There are many of us who lose contact with a friend, aunt, uncle, cousin, sister, brother, or even a mother and father on a daily basis. But, why not reach out? It’s easier said than done, since many wait and hope for the other person to reach out first or we just assume they forgot about us and are importance to them doesn’t mean as much to them as they do to us. It’s hard to say exactly why one loses contact with another. However, it’s never too late to try to contact and build a relationship with that person again. An example, which I would like to use, is about my mother. My mother’s parents were divorced and her father happened to have two other children by two different women in which he had been married to at one point in time. Not sure the exact reason why she had lost contact with them at such a young age. I believe it may have to deal with their mothers. But, I never really knew my mother had other siblings as well until she mentioned it when I was older. I only knew of her siblings that her mother and father had together. Plus, her father had passed away before I was even born. But, that’s not what this is about. About ten years or so ago, my mother after so much time had passed, reached out to her to half siblings, hoping they could all reconnect and see how much has changed throughout the time they had spent being distant.
