Diftler, wrote "Reconfiguration of EVA Modular Truss Assemblies using an Anthropomorphic Robot", published in 2014 by NASA discusses about how on many space expeditions NASA relies strongly on astronauts to operate Extra-Vehicular Activities (EVA) for space constructions and maintenance operations. Many lives are at risk when put into these tasks to reduce minimal casualties the corporation are building space robots which are called Robonauts in order to do these tasks. These anthropomorphic robots provide sufficient work and are more consistent than humans at doing their jobs. They are designed to not just do a human task, but also other jobs such as building and repairing structures on another planet where humans cannot reach. Diftler truthfully provided information on how the robonauts were built, "Robonauts 's arms are human scale manipulators designed to have human equivalent strength, human-scale reach, thermal endurance to match an eight hour EVA, fine motion ability, high bandwidth, dynamic response, redundancy, built in safely, and a range of motion for the human limb" (Diftler). This means that the robonauts are merely identical, to humans with the same characteristics. This allows NASA to monitor the limits of humans and also the robonauts because they are both alike. Because this is a step forward into the right direction on getting closer to living on another planet, and humans are not able to live without having their resources and other materials to maintain a sustainable life there also what if our planet Earth is suffering from a major disaster? I sound crazy! However, I believe that in a few years Earth will run out of resources because of the way humans are living and we are getting more populated each year, meaning more resources are needed. We have the technology to sustain life on another planet, but still need much improvement on the equipment. Additionally, NASA can make use of these robonauts to build greenhouse structures using the right methods to sustain human life on different planets. Growing plants is the most important aspects for this expedition. If we’re able to grow any life at another planet then that means we succeed on our mission.
