Recess In High School

“Ring” goes the school bell as you hop along to your first day of kindergarten. I don’t remember much about kindergarten but I do remember the outfit I was wearing. I wore a denim looking dress with a smile on my face as I walk into class. I knew how to read and tie my own shoes before kindergarten, I remember my dad teaching me while we lived in Florida.
I have more memory of when I was in first grade. I remember one day at recess and I had to go to the bathroom really bad, I asked my teacher and which she responded, “Recess is almost over, you can wait until after.” Of course I didn’t disagree because who would want to leave recess early? I continued to play on the playground with my friends, than all of a sudden I decided to go down the yellow side. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite make it down without having a little accident.

One morning I had a loose tooth and I was eating cereal and all of a sudden all I hear is big “Crunch” noise. I ended up swallowing my tooth without realizing it. I told my teacher and she just laughed at me. I was highly upset thinking that the tooth fairy wouldn’t come since I didn’t physically have the tooth. It turned out that the Tooth Fairy didn’t need the actual tooth to reward me with some moolah.
First grade was my first time getting in trouble at school. It was lunchtime and it was yogurt day. These kids thought it would be funny to fling yogurt with their forks. Well it ended up in my hair and I was not happy. I got revenge by doing it back and I accidently flung to hard and my fork went across the table. This ultimately created a mini food fight. The other student and I both got in trouble and had to stand in the office instead of going to recess. I cried because I was so upset about getting in trouble and I never flung yogurt

Moving to the U.S was one of the many life changing experiences I have ever encountered. Some say that learning a completely different culture especially the language may be difficult, well, they were right! Coming to America did not only come with struggles, changes, and lessons, but it also brought blessings. I think that if you turn a situation around, for the better, you somehow become more optimistic about the situation itself. Talking about these attributes that came into my life will not only explain entirely where I come from, but really how each helped me become the person that I’m today.…

I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion.
