Although working under the umbrella of The Joe Wine Blythe Recreation Center, the foundation continues to give back and nurture the Blythe and Palo Verde Valley community.
History:
In existence since the mid to late 1950s, The Blythe Recreation Foundation was formed, which would later encompass the Rec-N-Crew, a non-profit organization, which was formed to purchase necessities to improve the Joe Wine Blythe Recreation Center, as well as provide the center with supplies and equipment.

“Most people join by word of mouth or they see us at an event and they tell us they’ll be at our next meeting,” Galvan said.
Meeting triennially, the group collectively came up with its name.
“Rec came from Recreation and Crew came from the group that would be sponsoring the foundation,” Galvan said.
Needing to establish themselves as a tax exempt organization, the foundation received pro-bono help from the Law Firm of Jones and Mayer, which handled all the proper paperwork. With this development as a 501(c)(3), the foundation continues to go the distance in the community doing charitable work, fostering amateur sports and supplying several entities in the community with donated contributions to promote effective change.
On the virtue of its reputation in the community, at the last city council meeting, Coach Rick Copple gave a special thanks to the Rec-N-Crew and to the Rec. Center for their support in helping the football team get to Carson, California.
“If it had not been for such an organization like this in the community, the Flag Football All Stars who won the B-Division Championship wouldn’t have been able to attend,” Copple
