Reasons Why Teachers Should Be Paid

Teachers should be paid more. A teacher is a professional who dedicates their career to education. Teaching is a multifaceted job full of responsibilities. A teacher has to be a mentor and an example for their students while also a planner and a figure of authority. There are many reasons why teachers should be paid more. First, teachers work more than 8 hours a day. A survey in 2012 to 10,000 teachers reveals that on average teachers work 11 hours a day. Usually, teachers also have to work at home planning lesson and grading papers. Teachers also assist to staff meetings generally after school hours that can last from 1 to 3 hours once or twice a week. Importantly, lunchtime for teachers is also compromised.
