Reasons Why Scholarships Should Be Paid

While there are ways to pay for college without a scholarship as reported by CNN, scholarships for military personnel can be a great option. The cost of a 4-year college can exceed the budget of most people who don't have a parent paying for tuition. Every year, scholarships are awarded to 7 individuals who have a connection to the military. It could be given to active personnel in the military at the moment. It's also potentially given to those who have been honorably discharged. Family members, reserves, children or grandchildren and spouses might receive assistance if they are qualified. To qualify, the person must have a GED or high school diploma and show financial need for an accredited school program for a degree. The person must be a United States citizen and not currently be in default on a student loan. Each person awarded the scholarship can receive up to $4,000.

The foundation awards grants to women who have served in the Army, reserve or National Guard. They must have a grade point average over 3.0 and have proof of their military service. The scholarship awards the women with up to $2,500 for their attendance at accredited schools.
