The 2016 presidential election has to be the most controversial election in American history. For many years’ elections were based off pride and respect not hatred and jokes. For the first time in history, we have a business man such as, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton the first woman nominee running for president. Both candidates have weaknesses when it comes to their political ideology, but they represent Americas two major political parties. With most media coverage going to the Republican and Democratic nominees, third-party candidates like Gary Johnson go unknown to the American people. I believe Gary Johnson should be the next president of United States because of his beliefs on taxes, social issues, and foreign policy.

Johnson explains,” Planned parenthood does a lot of good for women besides just abortion... It helps women find cancer and other health problem”. Planned parenthood is a great resource for women out there who do not have health insurance. Another benefit that planned parenthood brings for America is for the young ladies who are too afraid of asking their parents to take them to the doctor. Planned parenthood is very helpful for teens who are seeking birth control or pregnancy tests. Johnsons social-issues are a strong point for the libertarian candidate, but Americans will also benefit from his foreign …show more content…
Johnson does not want to send troop overseas to fight ISIS until they attack American soil. Johnson has repeatedly stated this over the last twelve months. He believes American troops should not be sent to war with ISIS until they hit America at home. Other candidates want to send American troops right away. Johnson disagrees with this because he does not want to put men and women’s lives in danger for no reason. He wants to stay out of middle eastern business until it becomes a problem for America. This is the direction America needs to take. America is usually the world’s problem solver, but as of now America cannot afford the cost of the war or to lose soldiers for no reason. It’s time for America to focus on its internal issues before trying to fix other countries problems. Out of all the presidential candidates, Gary Johnson brings by far the utmost efficient foreign policies for

Over the years women have been seen as a man’s property. A man has always known that his perceived natural rights entail a wife, her body, children, and a job. Essentially a twisted form of the American Dream right, but what if the clock is sped up to when women start gaining the confidence to fight for their rights? History has witnessed women gaining the right to vote, the ability to work alongside men, and to have their own house without a husband. Out of the numerous services that Planned Parenthood offers the public, only three percent of all of their procedures are abortions; meaning that ninety-seven percent of everything they do is basic health care and other medical services. Cecile Richards, the President of Planned Parenthood, lists the statistics in her article, Today, We Fight Back, “every year, 2.7 million people come through the doors of our health centers, a million people participate in our sex education programs, and 60 million people get health information and other resources from us online.” Since the Republicans who drafted this bill often focus on abortion, they completely ignore all of the good that Planned Parenthood does for the community. Getting into doctor’s offices can be incredibly long and hard process, as documented in Cecile Richards’ article; she talks about a woman that she met who, after her husband lost his job, lost their health insurance. After finding a lump on her breast, she only found two clinics that would take her on as a patient, but they had two-month long waiting lists, so she went to Planned Parenthood.…

By preventing Planned Parenthood from receiving federal money, it means people with government funded health care cannot use it for the services provided at the clinics. Many people do not know the exact statistics of the services Planned Parenthood provide, and because of that they may have skewed ideas of the clinic. Without federal funding Planned Parenthood patients who use government provided health care would have to pay for all of the services of the clinic out of their own pocket (Bassett). For people with private health care, this would not be an issue, but for others who lack the money to pay for private health care, they may be in trouble. Planned Parenthood has said that two-thirds of their patients are “low-income and have no other primary health care provider” (Bassett).…

Johnson also stated in his speech that he had his own immigration reform idea called the Comprehensive, Common Sense reform; this reform is like the S.744 bill, granting 11.5 million people citizenship and making changes to secure the border further. He believes that putting more money into border security will help lower the percentage of illegal immigrant’s crossing over into the country. Both Conservatives and Liberals want to have a secure border and to protect our country, but the problem is whether putting more money into border security will actually make a difference. In a debate over border security, Melysa Sperber stated her opinion about it saying, “Border controls have not proven effective at discouraging unauthorized flows. New efforts to enhance the border fence and to implement other barriers along the border would be costly, ineffective, and increase the vulnerability and victimization of border crossers” (Sperber 144).…
