Reasons Why College Athletes Should Be Paid Essay

There is a lot of controversy revolving around if college athletes should be paid for playing. I 'm here to tell you that I believe they should be paid for their services. There are many reasons why this should be in effect real soon and I 'm going to explain why. First off, I think the biggest reason of why they should get paid is that these colleges make large revenue off of these athletes’ talents these colleges are making millions of dollars a year in revenue and refuse to pay these athletes. Like I said before most of these college athletes want to go pro and get what they worked so very hard for …show more content…

But in reality these so called “non profitable organizations” are really in it for the money. Reason why I say this is because they go out and recruit the top athletes coming out of high school, not to come and get an education, but to help the university make tons of money. Like I said before, the same top athletes are aiming for the pros so they can get that big check. Most of them usually enter their name in the pro draft after completing one year of college depending on what sport they’re playing. Also there have been many pro athletes that said they would have stayed in college all four years if they were getting paid at least enough to take care of themselves and immediate family. I believe there are a lot more pros rather than cons if the NCAA were to implement this and I think it’d be great if they could come up with any fair compensation for these
