Should Murder Be Legal?
“They put it in a bucket and put it in the corner of the room and pretended it wasn’t there.” That it they are talking about, is a baby. This quote came from Dr. Ron Paul who witnessed an abortion. I am here to tell you why abortion should be illegal by giving true and valid facts. The definition of abortion is “The removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.” (Dictionary.com, LLC). To me, this definition is not enough. The word embryo/fetus should be replaced with either baby or organism. The reasons why abortion should be illegal are the following: what abortion really is, outrageous facts about it, and the negative results.
The first reason abortion should be illegal, is because of what

The first objection is that abortion is not murder because a fetus is not a baby. Biologically a cell is a living thing. When an egg and a sperm mix it becomes a cell. Therefore, it is a living thing. A cell is the smallest root of an organism. Some say that a baby is not living until it is born. If it is not living then why are they practicing breathing? If this baby is not a living organism then explain why this baby is kicking and develops facial expressions. In the first term, the baby is doing all sorts of other things. A lot of people are also considering the baby living after the heart starts to beat. Which, is only eighteen days after conception takes place. ("Know, Learn & …show more content…
Only one percent of all abortions occur because of rape or incest ("Abortion Facts"). It is understandable as to why a woman would want an abortion after rape. She doesn’t want to have the constant reminder of her traumatizing event. There are parents who cannot have a child, and they would love to have a child to call their own. Adoption has always been an option. As for incest, if it is a choice to have sex with a relative then it should not matter. It is also understandable if someone just finds out that they are cousins, or whatever, and there is a fear for the baby’s mental health. Even so, only one out of every 100 abortions is because of rape or

Why choose abortion? Abortion is seen as a necessity right because a women shouldn’t need a reason to not want to be pregnant. In the article “Abortion With Apology”, Katha Pollitt persuasively argues that it is simply the woman’s body and nothing should stand in the way of what she wants for herself. Pollitt asks, “What’s praiseworthy about bearing more children than you can--or want to--take care of?” (Abortion Without Apology).…

Imagine yourself as a fetus, inside your mommys tummy. Your tiny heart beating, chest moving up and down with every breath you take, toes curling, blood being rushed through your veins and your tiny fingers curling into your palm, making a tiny fist. All of a sudden, a knife tears against your skin, tearing your fragile body into pieces. Your legs are ripped out first, then your hands, and pretty soon, only your little head remains. Soon enough, that disappears too.…

Reproductive rights are the subject of extensive debate in capitol buildings and classrooms alike. In fact, just the other week, a friend and I got into a heated argument over the autonomy of a woman versus that of a fetus. My friend believes that a woman's right to make certain choices- namely abortion- end when fertilization occurs. Conversely, I'm very pro-choice for a variety of reasons. Firstly, I consider myself a feminist and as such value an individual's right to determine their own medical procedures in a higher regard than a fetus.…

When a human beings its life is something to be nurtured and cared for but, many people argue that they have the right to decide whether or not they want to bear that child. “Trauma represents just one category of mental states causing significant emotional harm to individuals” (Cohen). So if a woman gets pregnant from rape or incest and develops a trauma, an abortion will help remove the trauma and improve the mother’s emotional health. Moreover, “[If a woman] prefers to end her pregnancy, raising a profoundly disabled child might be thought to also impose significant [emotional] suffering” (Cohen). If a mother knows that her unborn child will be disabled, the mother will be depressed, but if she gets an abortion before the baby is born, this could improve the mother’s emotional health. Furthermore, “The rape case, the trauma, and the pregnancy have the same “cause” and are inextricably linked such that one cannot end one without the other” (Cohen).…

Since 1760 BC, abortions have been sought-out internationally. There are a variety of reasons for them: because sexually abused women do not desire for guardianship of the child, females do not want their body to be unfit because of pregnancy, or it was a careless mistake that could have been prevented with birth control or any other prevention method. Many women have nonessential abortions. One quintessential example of this is in China; they kill fetuses if the sonogram proves the unborn child to be female. Abortions should be illegal because it is unjust and purposeless slaughter to the unborn human being.…
