15 Passenger vans are among the most dangerous vehicles in use today. They are typically used by shuttling services, colleges, elderly care centers, churches, and community organizations for transporting up to 15 people (including the driver) at a time. These vehicles are also rented out, which means they are often driven by people without prior experience who may lack awareness of the van's safety issues.

Why 15 Passenger Vans Are Dangerous

The passenger cabin extends well beyond the rear axle (up to 4 feet). Passengers and cargo positioned behind the rear axle make the vehicle unstable. This causes it to over steer and fishtail during an emergency swerve maneuver. This effect is especially pronounced when most of the passengers are seated
