Reasons To Get Involved In Human Trafficking

Human trafficking, which involves the recruitment and movement of women, men, and children across or within national borders for the purposes of sexual, labor, and other forms of exploitation, is a serious human rights violation and important public health. Human trafficking is a serious crime and every year more and more humans are falling into the hands of traffickers, in their own countries and from abroad. Almost every country is affected by trafficking, and no one is save from being exploited however, people from lower socioeconomic settings are better targets. There are many ways people fall victim to human trafficking but the focus will be how women get involved in human trafficking focusing on the reasons that led them to becoming involved in human trafficking and the encounters. The goal of this research is to showcase the reasons and encounters that led humans to be trafficked. Snowball sampling is a technique where existing subjects recruit future subjects from their own acquaintances. Thus the sample group tends to grow. As the sample gets larger there will be enough data to be useful for research. Interviews will be the main form to get the information, all being put into a word document. Limitations in this research will lie in the methodology. As mentioned above time constraints are evident in this study, that is why snowballing will help in flushing out the victims to interview. However, a downside to snowball swamping is that there is no chance of random sampling to take place. Which means that this research will be a qualitative research because the purpose is to explain and gain insight into the reasons behind human trafficking.
