Reasons To Achieve The American Dream

Take a moment and think about your deepest wishes and dreams. Then ask yourself, “What have I done to pursue those dreams?” The American dream is the belief that all people have the opportunity to become anyone or anything they want. This dream is attainable to anyone who is willing to set goals, work hard to accomplish them, and never give up. We all know the story of the mighty Hercules; his strength and heroics make him an admired Disney character. But what we don’t always focus on is how hard he had to work to attain his dreams. As a boy Hercules was constantly ridiculed and scoffed at by everyone around him. However, he withstood all adversity and eventually realized that he could go the distance. In America we have the freedom to become who we want to be and what we want to do with our lives. In many other countries the citizens aren’t given the same freedoms as the United States. In other countries the people aren’t free to choose who they want to become. They don’t get to choose what job they do or what religion they belong to. These people come to the United States because they have hope in the American dream. The American dream is the equal opportunity for each U.S. citizen to become successful in every aspect of their life. In conclusion, the American dream can be different for each person, because every person has different goals, desires, and talents. What is important and brings joy to some people is different for others. There will always be challenges that arise and opposition in our paths, but through determination and constant hard work, the American dream can be achieved.
