In this persuasive academic journal aimed at educators and parents, the author fought for year round schooling. To begin the author summarized the history of traditional schools and summers which accommodated for farming, family vacations, and heat, all of which the author claimed are outdated arguments. Continuing on, the author mentioned the need for increasing the amount of instructional days per year as America falls behind in academic expectations.
