Capital Punishment is legal in only 31 states. What is capital punishment, and why aren’t all 50 states for this method of punishment? Capital punishment is also referred to the death penalty, and used to execute criminals. Starting from being hanged in town square to the more modern way of execution of lethal injection. First brought to America during the colonist days, and still used in the 21st century. The first form of capital punishment was by hanging, a more modern day use is death by lethal injection. This is huge controversial topic, where many can debate for days. As I mentioned before many states do not agree on capital punishment. Those against it think either it is a waste of state funding, or those who bring their religion into the debate and believe it’s not moral. Those who are for capital punishment believe that it will cut down rate crimes, and save more lives.
