Jamestown is located about 50 miles up the James river from Chesapeake Bay, in May of 1907, english colonist arrived there. However, they weren’t completely successful; more than the 50% of them died. Did not have enough preparation, experience in other territories, and a good relationship with the Indians were the principal reasons which explain why they died. Although spain settlers were a big number, almost the half of them were gentlemen, just some labourers and the rest had not to useful professions. Overall, two clear examples are the bad water that they had and the bad relationship with the Powhatans. As a result, those two factors unleashed more than one problem which caused so many deaths.
