1. Because it is the Right Thing to do Okay, this was pretty obvious, but I just wanted to remind you of the fact. It just isn 't okay or humane that we feel alright about people dying of poverty when we have every opportunity to help.
2. Because it can hurt you
Did you know that countries with impoverished people are more likely to have more terrorism and genocide, and criminal activity in general. Did you also know that kids in need are more likely to become a problem in the future than others. You know, the ones with no education and no other source of living than feeding off what they are given. Because these kids need to survive and to some of them there is no other sustainable method of survival available than to go ahead and make a living illegally causing problems for those that do so legally. As long as there is poverty there will be crime.
(mind you, though there is a direct link between poverty and crime not all poor people commit crimes)

For instance, when people who are undergoing financial difficulty and they 're cold but can 't afford a heater they would most likely build a fire instead to keep warm, causing air pollution. Maybe they can 't afford to buy meat they 'll hunt animals instead, all kinds (unaware of laws protecting certain kinds), leading to the extinction of some animals. You see, if you 're desperate you 'll care more about your substantial gain than what is healthy for the environment, because it 's our human
