19.6% of US children aged 6 to 11 years and 18.1% of adolescents aged 12 to 19 years are overweight (NHANES). The given statistic proves that obesity is more common now than ever before. Many people side that fast food restaurants and advertisement are the reason for obesity in America. Although fast food restaurants and advertisements play a role in leading to obesity, it is not exactly why there is more obesity than a little in America. Obesity begins within the households of most Americans by which they diet. Children practice their eating habits from their parents, they eat what is giving to them and eat as much as they see their parents eat. A lot of children become overweight because they are constantly eating junk foods that are accessible. A lot of times people forget how important it is to nourish their bodies with the proper fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, etc. According to different weights people’s bodies require different portion sizes. A lot of Americans utilize the convenience of fast food restaurants and quick snacks just to maintain their hunger for the moment, but they should actually nourish their bodies with the proper supplements. Restaurants such as; McDonalds, Wendy’s, and Burger King are convenient and are uncostly then healthier restaurants so they are chosen. Lots of people chose cheap over pricey, unknowingly choosing the effects of their health.
Although fast food restaurants have an effect on obesity in America it is not all reasons why there is such an all-time high of obesity. Obesity is a choice. Choice of exercise, eating habits formed from medications, portion control, dieting, intake, and also a parents dieting habit chosen for their children.
