I have a syllabus that has the schedule of every class day and every due date for every test, quiz, and paper. Unless there is a perfectly good reason to why you were not in class to take the test, or didn’t have your paper finished, why should I give the student more time, especially since they have known all semester! I don’t intend to come across as an inflexible teacher but if I let it slide for one student how is it fair to all the others. Of Corse if you have a medical note or a serious reason I will do everything I can to work around your schedule to get you the test and give you the time you need for the paper. Sadly most of the time this is not the case, most student’s just aren’t prepared. This is not grade school I am not here to hold your hand. What will you do when you are in the real world and your boss needs a report on their desk by Monday? Not getting it to them on time could be your
