1. If you are given five persuasion theories, be able to offer “persuasion examples” based on those theories. Explain how the examples fit the theories. Persuasion has a long history and also has been created into theories by many scholars.
Persuasion theories had been classified into 2 types which are psychological theories and sociological theories. Psychological theories seek to demonstrate how values, attitudes and beliefs are structured and triggered. Meanwhile, sociological theories emphasize on the collaboration of the individual to the others in situations of persuasion (Benjamin, 1997). If you are given a “persuasion moment” (like the homework and examples), be able to identify which persuasion theory best accounts for what happened or what might work. Also explain why you selected the theory you did (i.e., mention elements of the theory that fit the persuasion moment) As the definition of persuasion, it means the use of messages or symbols to influence the receivers. People have been persuaded all the time. It could be said that persuasion is all around. I, myself, also have been convinced or persuaded all the time by my friends, colleagues, parents or the advertisements on internet or other social media.
For example, using mobile phone, I am an IPhone user. I have been using this brand for many years because I had been told by one of my friends and advertisement that this brand is the best mobile phone ever. After that, I searched some information from the internet by myself. I found that what my friend told me and what presented on the advertisement was true and many people also used this brand.
