Education, for as long as I can remember, existed at the center of my life. I come from a family of teachers who rise in the ranks of the education system each day—transforming from teachers to department heads, and soaring into the broader fields of administrative work. While I completed my undergraduate degree, I took a step away from the draw of education. To find success in life, I thought a federal job with great benefits and high pay would bring me happiness.
