I will stay,” answered one of the officers. Just as he had answered, a black bird came down and landed on the corpse of the unfortunate guard. As the king, queen, and officer entered the palace, they showed the officer to Gaelan’s room where he could stay until things returned to normal. As the officer settled down, the king and queen told the princess to go to sleep and they would talk to her in the morning. The queen explained to Bethany what happened on the way to her room.
