The pledge of allegiance states “One Nation... with Liberty and Justice for all, (4 USC Sec. 4).” These strong words are stated daily by people around the United States in allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. Such strong and meaningful words that do not include the actions by most of those in the land of the “free”. America is seen as one of the greatest countries in the worlds being advanced in technology, politics, business and, being a place seen to be a land of opportunity.With all this being true you would expect that the U.S would have a society that abides by the strong characteristics states in the pledge of allegiance, however there is a continuous problem of unequal treatment in the United States going to show …show more content…
Reality TV is defined a television programs in which real people are continuously filmed, designed to be entertaining rather than informative, according to Google. While some believe reality television deals with stereotypes of groups of Americans, it can be successfully argued that reality television does nothing but fed into the stereotypes and is a negative system for dealing with stereotypes in America’s society today. Reality shows never set well with me because I did not find them entertaining but rather embarrassing. Shows such as Basketball Wives play fully into stereotypes of African American females. The show is based on a group of woman mainly African American that were or still are married to or has children by a National Basketball Association (NBA) Player. The show normally shows there's women in aggressive situations where they are in disputes with each other. This can be seen in an episode of the show when a peaceful event for a business being host by one of the cast members turns into a brawl by two of the other cast members who got into an heated argument. This plays into the stereotype of African Americans being naturally violent seeing as though this was the first of many situations of the same nature. Keeping situations such as theses keep the views and ratings of the show up by continues to exploit the African American people and characterized them in ways that are not true to
