I got the job through a program called the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). This program helps young adults between the ages of 16-24, like myself, get summer jobs around the city in various fields. I specifically chose the Eileen Abraham Insurance Agency as my job site because at the SYEP orientation, us participants were pretty much rushed into making a selection for a job site. I’d like to make choices by myself, rather than have them be made for me. I’d like it to have a professional, yet relaxed atmosphere. Although, I am not completely sure, I am leaning heavily towards becoming a psychologist, of a currently undetermined field. I would like to be able to have the freedom to go outside in the middle of the day and spend some time by myself in a large empty park so I can reconnect with nature. I want to be able to make rules for myself and abide by them, though change is always welcome. My work will have to be directly benefitting people in some way. To me, a career is nothing unless I can help individuals one-on-one to better themselves and their families. Life is so stressful and the world so negative. I want to be someone that people will think about and
