On a warm, rainy and humid night, February of 2012, white, 28 year old neighborhood watchmen George Zimmerman was patrolling Sanford, Florida for any suspicious activity. He comes upon black, 17 year old Trayvon Martin, who is walking home from a gas station. The teenager was wearing a black hoodie covering up all of his face and arms which to Zimmerman was suspicious because it is about 75 degrees and night time. Zimmerman follows Martin. Martin at the time was talking on the phone with a friend of his which she had testified as Martin calling Zimmerman a “creepy-ass cracker”. After being followed for a while, Martin confronts Zimmerman and demands an explanation why Zimmerman was following him. The two of them get into a loud argument that leads to Martin attacking Zimmerman. A neighbor who witnessed the fight, describes in court Martin on top of Zimmerman in a “ground and pound” position. (The position of “ground and pound” is a martial arts movement that happens when the aggressor slams the victim’s head into the ground until he loses consciousness.) Many neighbors here screaming that was described as Zimmerman screaming for help before pulling his semi-automatic pistol out and fatally shooting Trayvon Martin. On August 9th of 2014, shortly after robbing a gas station, black 18 year old Michael Brown and his friend walk down the middle of a busy and popular road in Ferguson, Missouri. (Foxnews.com) Police Officer Darren Wilson, in his squad car, pulls up beside the two young adults and requests that the two of them get out of the middle of the busy road and stop holding up traffic. After Brown talks back to Officer Wilson and appears to start walk back to the side of the road, Officer Wilson starts to drive away. But he notices the two men stay in the middle of the road, Officer Wilson backs up beside them again and starts to get out of the car. At that moment, 6 foot 7 inch Brown shoves Officer Wilson back into his patrol car and starts to physically beat the officer through the Drivers Window. Officer Wilson draws his hand-gun and threatens to shoot Brown, which causes Brown to stop punching the officer and back away. Officer Wilson gets back out of his car, with the gun still drawn at Brown, and orders him to the pavement. Brown puts his hands up and in an intimidating manner, asks the officer what he was going about it. But instead of getting on the ground, Brown starts for Officer Wilsons gun and he opens fire on Brown. “He just kept coming!” (Officer Darren Wilson).
