Students need to have a teacher that has values and understands the importance of these values. As a teacher, I hold such a powerful role with having the responsibility of a student’s performance. It is important for a teacher to hold high, but realistic, expectations for each student. I will be there to help start every child and guide them to find and follow their dreams. It is vital that I am there to encourage every student. Teachers need to show each student that they are individually important. If the children are not engaged; then, they tend to get distracted and even end up getting in trouble. Each lesson will relate to their experiences, so they can relate to what is going on and grow on that. In return, they can succeed individually. In fitting the lesson to the child, I really plan to keep the attention of all my students. I really desire them to be excited about learning, as I am. In relating every subject in the classroom to the things there are interesting, they will see how it applies to them daily and where. I believe it is very important for a child to be excited about what we are teaching. Otherwise, we lose

The Family Tree to My Dreams In my eyes, my culture is all the aspects behind my family and the people that help define who I am. This may include the events that have happened to past generations, behaviors of my relatives or beliefs that have been passed down to me. In the book, Is everyone really equal?, the authors, Sensoy and DiAngelo, define culture as “the norms, values, practices, patterns of communication, language, laws, customs, and meanings shared by a group of people located in a given time or place”, expressing that culture can be seen on the outside of a person such as how they dress or the language they speak or underneath the skin such as attitudes toward certain situations or body language (Sensoy and DiAngelo). I believe…

My biggest personal belief is that all students deserve a passionate and innovate teacher. One who will do everything in their power to see each and every child succeed. It is easy to teach the students who learn material quickly and who behave well, but the truth is the students who misbehave and need an extra push are the ones who need us the most.
