The novel To Kill a Mockingbird is a story about innocence, knowledge, prejudice, and courage. Courage is defined, as the ability to do something that one knows is difficult or dangerous. In Harper Lee’s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch says,” Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. Real courage is when you fight for what is right regardless of whether you win or lose.” Atticus Finch, Mrs. Dubose, and Boo Radley are perfect examples of people who demonstrate courage in the novel. Being Tom Robinson’s lawyer, Atticus Finch shows a great deal of courage. Atticus explains to Scout the reason why he is representing Tom.
