I am ready to transfer to a university school because attending community college first help me what I should improve as a student and how school is very important. One of my accomplishment was that I was the first one to attend college in the United States from my family. During my time in college, I had many challenges and how I wanted to take a break from school but didn't. I had some tough classes and had family problems but still manage to do decently okay. I wanted to give up when I found out that 3 of my grandparents died in the same year separating just 1 month from each other. I decided to keep pursuing my dream for them because they would want me to finish school and have a career. I also wanted to have a good future for my family

If I could go back to the past and talk to myself in September 2013, I would tell my younger self to be prepared for the next four years. I would advise myself to plan out my work and actually do assignments ahead of time instead of putting them off until nine o'clock the night before they were due. I would tell myself to not take honors trig because it was too much to handle combined with all of my other classes, as well as saying, that just because it was recommended to take a class, it doesn't mean I should've. I would recommend actually trying to do the workouts for field hockey before preseason. That way it wouldn't be so bad in the future.…

While at a Community College, I have had time to grow and mature into a finer young adult than I came out of High School. I learned to live on my own and take care of myself, while continuing to acquire training and education. It was also a time I took to figure who I am and who I want to be. With that in mind, I have found that I desire to continue growing at a different institution. While I have learned a significant amount of things in my current college and enjoyed every minute of it, I will be graduating from its program soon and wish to explore opportunities elsewhere.…

Dolores seems to be a very big part of her family unit, which will bring some stress for her in college. Her siblings have already expressed that they will miss their sister when she goes off to college. Furthermore, her mother sees her as a support system, being that Dolores helps her with not only the troubled relationship she has with Dolores’ father, but with her disabled 10 year old sister. I think after some time in college, Dolores will most likely start to feel some guilt over not being able to help out at home because college will take up so much of her time. This will obviously cause her stress which on top of the stress of Freshman year, will cause her a lot of anxiety.…

Just like me, thousands of international students as well as local students are benefitted by the affordable price, simple requirements for admission, and tremendous options and opportunities of community college. Though I belong to engineering field back in my country, I was able to switch to IT field and many of those grades were easily transferred to a community college which saves both time and money. At the moment I have an Associate degree and employed in an IT field as well. This would not have been possible in the absence of community college. The most interesting thing is, for my Bachelors degree I am taking only core course at Western Kentucky University while taking other general courses at community college in a very cheap price comparing to WKU, which is about 3 times more expensive.…

In other words, in my experience I chose to go to community college because of the price difference between a community college and university. This gave me time to be able to figure out my major without having to be in debt. Also, going to community college has not only given me time to realize what career I will be striving for, but also save money for a university. Most importantly, community college has prepared me and given me the confidence to move on to a university.…

Just surviving in the halls of a high school is how many people try to go about their four years of education, however this will not help you grow into a better person. High school has been a place that can be compared to a weight room for me. I go to the weight room to grow my muscles just the same as I go to high school to grow my ideas, education, and morals. “I’m a peacock, you gotta let me fly!” a quote by the most loved character, Terry Hoitz, describes how everybody in high school feels.…

During the course of this class I have learned a lot about the college life and how different it is to high-school. In college everything is more fast-paced and the teacher require the student to be more responsible. When I complete two years at Mayland I plan to transfer to King University in Bristol, Tennessee to get my masters in business administration. I like this college because it reminds me a lot of Mountain Heritage in that the class sizes are not too large, and the overall campus size is small. This college is my main choice for transfer, however, I have looked at UNCA as a possible transfer option.…
