There were many things that stuck out to me in the two items that I analyzed. They reminded me of my own personal life in multiple ways, and I was really intrigued by how deeply they broke down what playing games. The first incident in which I was impressed, was when Ted talk broke down how online games play a major role in giving the players the feeling of empowerment while playing. This happens because a player gets into a game and feels like he/she can change the world that they are virtually in, and they begin to start looking at themselves from a certain perspective in which the world is revolving around their every action. For example, I often feel very in control and empowered when playing certain games. I love to play zombie survival games, sports games, shooting games, and adventurous games. A game that I believe makes me feel in control the most would be Boarderlands. Borderlands is a game that revolves around the player’s ability to level up wisely and attain the correct items to help the people of each town, that are in need. I like that game because I am the only one that can change the environment that I am in, and I have to fight against other bad guys that hinder the people of the towns from being satisfied. …show more content…
Well, most things that are played are games. I believe that these two words make each other what they are. This is only in some instances though. To be more exact, you are able to play house, dolls, dress-up, etc., but when you play something that has a reward or achievement you are trying to accomplish to make whatever you are playing, a competition in some way; it then becomes a game.
