Pros And Cons Of Banning Reading Materials

Imagine a world where thoughts, ideas, expressions, and facts were censored because a selected group of people do not agree with them. The Internet, books, and media are ways people could express their emotions, where authors and artists could display and explain their thoughts on a blank page or an empty canvas, where musicians could sing their hearts out on something they believe in and enjoy; however, with all of this exposure, you would think people would start to be more accepting of emotions, facts, and ideas. Today, we live in a society where people are trying to remove or confine reading materials to enhance safety, security, and to avoid politics and corruption. In my opinion, I would not want to ban reading materials. If someone were to ban reading materials, I would address the concern by simply telling them my thoughts on the matter by either speaking face to face or creating a blog post with the ideas of banning reading …show more content…
Books spark ideas and create fascinating images and emotions for a person, but if those types of books are banned, what happens to that magic and curiosity? For banning books, I would express the concerns by voicing my opinion either by voice or by blog because I feel like that is the best way for me to do it. I would tell people that banning reading materials would make the people think that it is not acceptable to be curious about a subject or topic, I would also mention that making restrictions would cause people to look more into the banned material and have them question why it was banned, and lastly, I would mention that banning materials would make authors and other individuals feel scared to express their feelings or share facts about the matter. I believe that creating limitations would destroy individuals’ minds to make them think that they cannot think certain thoughts or express their emotions or share facts by writing or by
