In "A Good Story" written by Rise B. Axelrod and Charles R. Cooper, talks about the stories that Sherman writes and tells. His mother tells him that his stories are to sad and that life in the reservations are not always bad. He tries to ignore her, but cant because what his mothers tells him is true. That life can not always be so sad and depressing. He also takes this in consideration, and talks about a happy time in his life, he recalls the moment he had with his uncle JoJo. "Reading Literature Makes Us Smarter and Nicer" by Annie Murphy, is a passage that shows how reading makes the reader a better and nicer person. Throughout the passage Murphy explains that "individuals who often read fiction appears to be better able to understand other people."(Murphy40) The more a young child reads the more they are understanding the emotions of one another. Reading is not something that we were born to do, so teaching the children's young about reading is a must. Deep reading is something a child needs, because it concentrates the people to read something they enjoy and it helps there brain.
In the passage " Reading Literature Makes Us Smarter and Nicer" Murphy gives example on why reading is good for the reader. She talks about how reading can make reader a better person because you would have a better understanding the emotions of one another. She also talks about how reading article online is not the same as reading from a book because 9 out 10 the reader will show lack of interest in the article and will not have any meaning to it.
