Reading for Speed and Understanding provided answer to these common questions. A student or any type of learner must understand what best works for them. Studying is not an exciting thing to do nor is it something every picks up quickly. The first tip for studying effectively is learning and understanding your learning style. Throughout high school I was a firm believer that I was in fact a visual learner. Visual learning style tips however was never helpful. When Reading for Speed and Understanding first began we took an assessment to judge our learning style. I was Kinesthetic. Swaying away from the visual spect and entering the kinesthetic manner I soon was able to pick up more information. In order to successfully Study it requires the perfect location, the perfect time and the strategy. The book says that a perfect studying location is a place with little distractions and noise, this place must be somewhere not to familiar in order a fall into distractions Distractions can be numerous things. However we overlook the little goals, such as to study more or to be more organize. Even more damaging than overlooking the little things we fail to reward ourselves accordingly. Throughout this course we set goals big or small. we gave it a time frame a measurement a reward, we called it our Personal Action Statements (PAS). Our PAS was our motivation to complete our goal. As students we have a lot on our plate whether its finances, personal, emotional or mental, we all faced challenges. Reading for Speed and Understanding indented the fact that these challenges can be overcame depending if you have motivation. Once we defect these challenges in tiny miny stones that our PAS laid out we would reward ourselves. Rewards could be in or external depending on the person. When I first rewarded myself after completing my first goal I felt relieved . It was a feeling of contentment and peace. That 's what goals offer at the end peace. Without goals set in stone noone would understand their purpose in doing someting and noone would feel at
