Reading and writing are key elements of literature. Reading and writing were never a hobby for me. These two elements are fundamental principles for everyone’s education, so there goes me learning how to read and write. Only times I get interested in reading and writing is when I read and write something interesting, like something with a meaning that makes you think, or something with a cause. I love learning how to speak new languages, which interests me to end up reading and writing them. Some of my experiences reading books were with my brother and summer reading books. Summer readings can sometimes be compelling.
During my 10th grade year around April, my high school started discussions about summer reading books. I was in my English class, getting ready for the class, students were talking to each other and my teacher Mrs. Potter who was sitting on a rolling chair at the corner of the classroom at her table. She pulled up some pictures of books and their descriptions on the smart board in front of the room. She started sending out a sheet of paper, with sharp edges that gave me papercuts. The piece of paper had the same names of the books that was on the board with a title “Summer Reading”

As I came into the class, I saw the books stacked up separately on a table. A few minutes passed by, Mrs. Potter started calling out our names and handing out the books. I got mine Divergent, a thick 500 page book. First thing I saw when I got the book was the cover page, with a small view of a city and a burning circle of fire. The sentence on top of the cover, made me think it was something deep, “one choice can transform you”. Flipped through the pages real quick, and put it in my book bag. I got home, started doing my homework and just left the book on my table, under a table
