What Does Reading Mean To Me

Orange, yellow, red, covered leaves in various shades floating gracefully with every step I took walking to my Grandmother’s house. I always enjoyed stepping foot into her home every time I opened the door I would be welcomed by a warm blanket of air that surrounded me in the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked sweets. Grandmother kept a tiny wooden bookshelf filled with various fairytale stories in the corner of her living room just for me. Since I could not yet read I would climb on to my grandmother’s warm lap like a faithful routine and hand her the book I wanted to listen to the most. Her softhearted voice read fairy tales to me until my young heart was content. I can obtain hidden things about myself and have a different outlook and perspective about life. Real actual day to day life is full of wars, battles, and horrifying conflict, but I will never know what it is like to fight against blood thirsty monsters, space aliens, and cold hearted robots. However, through reading I can ponder about these fictional situations and my reactions I would have towards them. In other words, how I view reading would be an escape from reality. Life can be stressful and most of the time I am busy with school or work that I have no leftover time for entertainment or even a small hint of enjoyment. Luckily, I found my outlet by distancing myself away from everything and curling up near my cozy fireplace with a book to take me on a barbarous adventure. Reading seems to be healthy was of getting therapy for example knowing you are in a tough situation, but luckily you find out you are not in it alone due to a book you have read with similar
