Read my Troubles Away In this stressful world, one must find a peaceful escape, somewhere to take a break. Surrounded by ways to distract oneself from troubling thoughts, it is up to individuals to learn what methods are perfect for them. Most people view reading as a task, a boring homework assignment. Reading is my escape. If I have a good book and time to read it, I will be content no matter what stressful situations or distractions exist. Unfortunately, with tasks still foremost on the mind, reading may lose its power to distract. An advantage that reading holds over other escapes is that it can be done virtually anywhere. At least when I begin to read, my surroundings should be relatively quiet and comfortable; however, if the author is skilled enough to engage my complete focus I can read anywhere without missing a word. Once I have settled down and focused in, the author’s imagination and my own can combine to transform words and paper into an intriguing universe just waiting to be explored. No matter whether I am indoors or outdoors, crowded or alone, among strangers or among family, I can escape to another universe hiding, waiting for me, between the covers of a book. When I am reading, I can take a break from this reality and spend some time as a fictional character or an invisible observer. Thanks to books I have broadened my knowledge in subjects from daily life to topics that I had not known existed. I have developed a curious view of the world around me, and of the parts or the world which I cannot see. My knowledge and search for more, unique perspective and curiosity, hard work and ability to take a peaceful break, have led me and those that I trust, to agree that the next step I shall take is the step into
