Reaction About Accident

We all react differently to the things that happens in our lifetime. While the certain events that take place do not define us as people, the way we react to those events do. Like for example, reacting to accidents. Accidents are a great example for this because they are almost completely at random. No one can ever predict or prevent from making accidents, it’s just human nature. While saying that, there are always 2 ways to react to an accident that has just happened. There is always a positive and negative outlook on the situation. The decision of how we look at things make us who we are. This is the story of my accident and how it made me who I am today. Just as I guessed, my parents were livid. They were not happy at all. They kept telling me that this is my junior year of high school and that it is the most important year of baseball to get a scholarship to college and this and that. After they finally calmed down, I was taken to the hospital. After several hours of waiting just to get a room in the ER, I’m finally in line to get seen. The nurse comes with a wheelchair to collect me and take me to the room for X-rays. As she is getting the machine ready I ask her what she thinks of the whole situation. She said it looked like it was broken but the way i described the pain it could be just something torn or pulled in my foot but there was no way to tell without looking at the pictures. I’m taken back to my room where i await the news. Many things are racing through my mind at this point. What if I can’t play? What do I do about School? What do I tell my friends and family? My family stayed with me and kept me calm before I left. Then the doctor burst into the room. He started to explain the procedure saying that I would be put to sleep and a screw will be place into my foot where it was broken to help the healing process and to strengthen it further. At the mention of a screw I started to feel sick to my stomach. I probably would have lost my lunch but I didn’t have anything to come back up. A little while longer it was finally prime time.
