Leaders guide and empower followers by directing them by establishing clear goals and tasks. Task2a

Rays of Sunshine is a charity formed in 2003. The charity helps to brighten the lives of young children dealing with severe illnesses that is a struggle in everyday life. The goal of the charity is to grant wishes to the children no matter how big or small and they try to achieve them.

The function of the manager in Ray’s of Sunshine is to over see the operation of the charity and delegating to the senior wish leaders.
The senior wish leaders are middle managers then there are the wish mangers which are lower level managers.

The weakness is little one to one supervision and interpersonal relation
If an employee must take emergency sick leave, Rays of sunshine Manager will look to see ways that the team can come together to pick up the slack until a temporary person can be replace that member for a brief time. Rays of Sunshine policy on sick leave is after 5 days a doctor’s note is required to get sick pay. Coming together as a team makes the team stronger and united.

If an employee is not following company’s policies, Rays of Sunshine will have an informal talk with said employee as a warning then if persists then re-training and extra supervision.

If Rays of sunshine increased to the point where there were few employees to the number of children making wishes, then they would get Human resources to send of a job vacancy with specific qualities to this job role.

The senior wish managers role Is to liaison with the, parents and children, explaining the them the process of how the wishes are granted and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Training of a new wish manager, there are few steps to follow to know the procedures but how to build a relationship with the parents and children. This is vital when

The senor leader will organize the staff together and have a discussion on how it can be tackled, this make the staff feel more involved in the development of the organization. Also meeting with the top-level managers are arranged on how the problem can be resolved.

3.0 Situation ship Theory (Hersy-Blanchard theory)

This theory is based on two fundamentals
1- Leadership style
2- situations depending on how well an individual or group perform

Rays of Sunshine leader ship style is very dependent on the situation as they are dealing with sick children that need a lot of comfort and reassurance. The parents look to a leader with maturity when it comes to handling the actual wish but need someone that can still be fun and appreciable to their sick child.

Contingency Theory (Fiedler)

This theory is based on how induvial wanted to be led by their leader or manager.
At Rays of sunshine they did a survey which showed how they valued the leaders and there worked styles.
Somewhere more task orientated, and others more human relations orientated.
