Ray Bradbury Symbolizes The Library In Something Wicked This Way Comes

In the story Something Wicked This Way Comes, Ray Bradbury symbolizes the library as a death trap for the Dust Witch which expresses her fragility. This can be seen through, “The Witch toppled forward”(Bradbury223), “The Witch pulled back the merest quarter inch as if some strange but hidden electric light socket, touched with wet whorl, gave shock” (228), and, “ ‘ No!’ The Witch protested”(229). The library acting like a safe haven for the Halloway’s and Jim causes the Dust Witch to be fragile on such safe grounds because she is used to having the upper hand.
