Throughout history, civilizations have had their civil liberties expanded while others have had them restricted. For example, through the conquistadores the rights of the Native Americans were restricted and some liberties, as the right to own property, were completely stripped from them. Due to expansion and imperialist mindsets social justice was not always met. Social justice means that everyone is given the equal opportunity and equal treatment, regardless of the individual’s religious affliction, or lack of, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation and possessions. As I have gained extra knowledge about the relevance of homelessness throughout America I have researched some people’s innovative techniques to alleviate some of the repercussions. Maggie Doyne would be my inspiration if I were to develop a plan to ease the impacts of homelessness. Through Maggie’s travels to Nepal, she built an orphanage, women center, and a school.
