It was one that I had never heard of at all. I was very interested in my research with this one mainly because it sounded so absurd at first. The Raelian’s do not believe in a God’s existence or that there is an afterlife. From what I gathered they believe that humans were created and put on earth by aliens. We have not been formally introduced to the aliens because we as a human race are not ready for that yet. Raelian’s believe in love and peace. They are a non-violent group. There are many rituals and ceremonies that are performed by this group. One of the things that stuck out to me the most was that they meditate to just enjoy life. This is similar to Buddhism. To the Raelian’s you are just preparing for another meeting with Aliens. They truly feel like when you die you end up just starting a new life on another planet. The fact that it was based on the Star Wars movies almost makes you think it must be a joke. I found that it is a very real religious movement that could become bigger in the future. The Jediism is similar to Buddhism and Daoism. They believe that through training of the mind and body that all things are attainable. They are a peaceful group as well as a very positive movement. Jediism for sure is totally based on the Star Wars movies. Somethings are omitted but for the most part they follow the teachings.
