The band Rascal Flatts was formed in 1999, this happened in Nashville Tennessee. Members of this trio include; Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney. Gary Levox is the lead singer for the group. Jay Demarcus has a wide variety including vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard and mandolin. And the Joe Don Rooney is a vocalist and guitarist. Second cousins Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus were playing at a country music club, when first played with Joe Don Rooney. Their normal guitarist couldn't make it so Joe stepped in, and that was the night it all started. When they were getting ready to sign with Lyric Street they realized they didn’t have a name. A friend of theirs said that he used to have a band called Rascal Flatts, and that’s when they decided
