In an intensive article titled, “Rape, the Most Intimate of Crimes” published by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), author Mary Dickson explains the dramatic true stories of victims of rape and abuse by a spectrum of assailants as well as the repercussions of their actions. Society has always had this prejudged stereotype of the typical rapist or flasher – sporting a tench coat, or hiding out in dark shadows just seeking their next prey. In all actuality, roughly three quarters of rapes are committed by a male the female knows (Dickson). This leads to another societal judgment of the victim seducing her perpetrator for attention.
