The media chooses to use certain words to describe certain people. When Brock Turner came into the news, many article titles called him an Ex-Stanford Swimmer, Stanford Student, or Stanford Swimmer. Many argue that a rapist should be called a rapist and not just a kid. They compared article titles of his case verses article titles of other rapist. Articles now mention this comparison and ridicule of how he wasn’t given a sentence he deserved and was treated to nice. People who shoot public buildings are called terrorist when they appear to be of Muslim faith but are called troubled or sick when they are white.
