Here at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), provisions have been added to the sexual assault policies to avoid controversy here on campus. One of the major additions to the sexual violence policy is the inclusion of a Title IX online sexual education course. Students at VCU are now required to complete an online sexual education course. This course teaches students about what is considered sexual violence and misconduct, the most commons places and ways it occurs, consequences for those who participate in sexual violence and misconduct, and provides resources for students who have become victims of sexual violence and misconduct. Also, VCU makes sure that all students are informed about when events of sexual violence occur. For example, when a rape occurs, all VCU students are emailed informing them of when the rape occurred, when it occurred, how many people were involved, and whether or not the assailants are in custody or if they are on the run. By providing this information, students are able to know when incidents happen and keep up to date on any changes made to sexual violence and misconduct
