On top of this, there are women who also comment negatively, as if women who are confident with themselves and their bodies are a disgrace to other women. Other women calling each other sluts and whores, insulting each other and putting down for how other women portray and use their bodies. If this was in person rather than on social media, it is very likely that she would have been cat-called or whistled at by someone, if not multiple people (commonly men), groped, harassed, publicly called out and humiliated, etc.
Rape culture is something that exists, and should be stopped. I do believe that both women and men are not only affected by this, and held to double standards in society that have an impact on rape culture. There is an elephant in the room of society that men have a certain dominance over women; that women, “belong in the kitchen”, and men, “have control”, which is the sole root of sexism from decades and centuries ago.
