Since the dawn of time, humans have always wanted a source of entertainment. Nowadays, multiple forms of enjoyment exist. For instance, many people may find pleasure in reading, writing, dancing, drawing, along with other recreations. Today, most people enjoy listening to music. As a matter of fact, it can be played for any occasion, whether for a party, a friendly gathering or just for entertainment purposes. Music has numerous genres, such as Pop, Country, Blues, and many others. A genre of music that has risen in popularity in the past few decades is Rap, which is a type of sound that can include rhyme, rhythm, and occasionally street vernacular. Everywhere we go there may be an advertisement against it, being on the radio, on a billboard, on posters, along with other forms of advertisement. However, rap songs often encourage it, as if drugs and alcohol are acceptable to use in a frequent manner, or any matter in reality. Though we may not notice it, rappers do have real issues in their lives and the only way to escape these issues is through their lyrics and through drug and alcohol dependency. Many Rappers often deliver messages regarding these substances in their lyrics to appeal to their audience, but what they are not aware of is that young people also listen to these songs. Moreover, lyrics that glorify these acts have a negative impact on the young audience. In addition, young people are not cognizant of what is right and what is wrong. They look up to these artists and think “That artist is cool. If he is doing drugs then I will do drugs too, so I can also be cool.” Kids receive morals from what they watch and hear. A song that promotes smoking pot and drinking recklessly may deliver the wrong message to the children listening to these
